Be The Change

I had a conversation with one of my friends tonight about women and relationship in which he said,"so many guys done messed up, that she expecting it, so I'm going to do it..." I replied,"you can't fix something by keep doing it." The conversation goes on and he says that its hard to be a good dude when its so many bad ones out there. Its sad that getting mistreated is not only accepted but expected. He also told me I can't do it by myself but seeing you do it make me want to try... "You must be the change you want to see in the world..." -Ghandi. Yea whateva nigga.....

This Too Shall Be Rewritten

“They took nigger out of Huckleberry Finn and replaced it with slave. White people, that's NOT an upgrade. If I'm a nigger i get to go home. If I'm a slave, I have to go with you.” –D. L. Hughley

So the fact that they are rewriting the story of Huck Finn has brought to my attention that this is not all they are rewriting. Apparently the state of Texas has chosen to rewrite some of their history books. (click here) It seems as if they are rewriting history to make white people seem more tolerant. Here’s a thought instead of changing history, change the future. Black people are not as hypersensitive about our race as they would have you believe. Honestly, more times than not, I’ve found the issue of race is brought to the forefront by whites and not blacks. Censorship in any form is horrible. The word “nigger” was used in the book because it was culturally relevant at that time. I seriously doubt at that time that southern whites would have called him “Slave Jim”. If I remember correctly, Jim was escaping, making him no longer a slave. If we are going to go changing things please don’t forget about “Injun Joe” but you don’t hear me though, so whateva nigga……
